The only real news I have is that the spin session this week may be moved to Tuesday. I will know for sure tomorrow.<br /><br />As far as keeping you entertained, here is a little video I found on the interweb.<br /><br /><object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/rxfzm9dfqBw&hl=en&fs=1"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/rxfzm9dfqBw&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object><br /><br />Thanks for your time and enjoy your remaining hours of weekend,<br />JasonJeff and Jasonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06049797747186192385noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1715791976896976972.post-65885672087451239942009-01-22T05:39:00.000-08:002009-01-22T07:00:14.730-08:00Single Speed Build Pt. 1<div style="text-align: center;">Good Morning Everyone,<br />I recently decided that I need another single speed. I also thought it would be fun to step you through the build. I have skipped the first couple steps. I tore the bike down to the frame, and since I am using new parts it was pretty much a "tear it off!" tear down.<br /><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Here is the frame that is being used:<br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUU4PmeI1ojslQLXLKmCoRbnobRCOCnn4tUJKcetLLloKXIwLV9NFkdTr7A2QkkSVHBYB4fQg6leVH4NF46ZCVnxl3PbL0wPSZm61rTqIvBcfhz4tQKwi95Gx62wZwr169Cehbu7ocIBMe/s1600-h/IMG_1305.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUU4PmeI1ojslQLXLKmCoRbnobRCOCnn4tUJKcetLLloKXIwLV9NFkdTr7A2QkkSVHBYB4fQg6leVH4NF46ZCVnxl3PbL0wPSZm61rTqIvBcfhz4tQKwi95Gx62wZwr169Cehbu7ocIBMe/s320/IMG_1305.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5294121618631157410" border="0" /></a><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">It is an old steel Gitane. I got it with no fork but I have a couple steel forks laying around the basement to use. It is a lugged frame so the plan is to strip it down to bare metal and repaint it. I will probably do lugs one color and tubing another. Not sure if I will put bands on it yet.<br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Another part of this build that I think should be showcased is the hubs:<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSKd2Ajb5VuhTpoxhdMDqk2jwcjfcCp90PcjUHc0Cv694EgZdEIher6E2jFlxwVMzficut7qsrFRCQRnrOrmm0iPYI6OCL6y1zeEjj11mzkud9tVwdvrm_Wdc6orAyPKD4Vijr6E9E40Y6/s1600-h/IMG_1306.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSKd2Ajb5VuhTpoxhdMDqk2jwcjfcCp90PcjUHc0Cv694EgZdEIher6E2jFlxwVMzficut7qsrFRCQRnrOrmm0iPYI6OCL6y1zeEjj11mzkud9tVwdvrm_Wdc6orAyPKD4Vijr6E9E40Y6/s320/IMG_1306.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5294124855101287906" border="0" /></a>They are Campy Neuvo Tipo hubs from around 1970. They were polished by Joe Stiller. He did a great job. The guy can detail. I plan on lacing those to a pair of Velocity Deep V rims. I think I am going to do a twisted spoke lacing.<br /><br />I have compiled a tentative parts list and will keep you updated on my progress. I am guessing the next step will either be the frame painting or the wheel building, depending on how I decide to strip the frame.<br /><br />On a side note, we had 17 riders at our spin session last night. That is really exciting and much more motivating than riding at home. Hopefully it continues to grow.<br /><br />Thanks all,<br />Jason<br /><br /></div>Jeff and Jasonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06049797747186192385noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1715791976896976972.post-45181192935324578692009-01-20T18:33:00.000-08:002009-01-20T19:18:37.015-08:00A nice upgrade<div align="center">2009 Tarmac Pro SL in the House! <img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5293573178054968962" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHxIq85_WQn3yqxYky3vH4-OOUemLyLH4GYgyrqN33xe3qrGMa4AHV2Yq_RM3MI6fBG2neGUG9qPeULlWDlFgXcyL_6tNfE_otgB8kq-8dCSOKoEl_GoPiitpXcAws0UJUVuQtSXnPcYVm/s200/Bike+012.JPG" border="0" /></div><br />I was fortunate enough to get my hands on a 2009 Tarmac Pro SL frame set. I know its not an SL2, but it is almost as much bike at almost half the dollars. So, for anyone in the market keep this bike as a whole or frame set in mind. The frame is identical to the Specialized Tarmac SL2 with 10R carbon fiber vs. 11R. The main differences being stiffness and weight. With that being said I was able to build mine at 15.5 lbs complete and that's in a 58 cm!!!<br /><br /><br />Here are a few pictures of the bike mid build and then complete. I built the bike up with a full sram force groupo, Ritchey WCS bits and a sick set of Easton Carbon Tubulars.<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5293573168339300050" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhn3f9lEZtAFR-3oDC8l1pOawHJaZwcKpP_2btm7m2hvdvLc0xC-glR9Q-qscxngXPN_NZ940F0ibiv3XIzqnCvNqyG3fiUYHh7P-PLYQeI4_xp1FEDKSVJxQbgCuvFYnFLaZF0NJQER39L/s200/Bike+005.JPG" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5293573173397660098" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrLyxCutSDUsrYdiPkMdrkmyPIMSrKTYHM-55v5vvpQalnLzbZBLHCQJ_rsTByknzMXj7UFeidrrVM3x5NB6-uV_XvG50DkqsR2GcPeoHR5pUEEMtxYILhc3X5wK-Tcw6p0_LeHTsMb87g/s200/Bike+010.JPG" border="0" /><br />I hope that my legs can keep up with the bike. The 2009 road racing season is rapidly approaching and I am definitely motivated to train hard and prepare to ride this bike a lot!!<br /><br />Thanks for reading,<br /><br />JeffJeff and Jasonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06049797747186192385noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1715791976896976972.post-25575929676945658002009-01-20T03:25:00.001-08:002009-01-20T03:34:58.064-08:00Make trainers funHey all,<br />We have been putting on spin sessions at the shop for a couple weeks now with excellent results. We have been growing each session and having a lot of fun while doing it. Riding your trainer with a group of people takes away the boredom and really makes it easier to get more out of your time on the trainer. It pushes you harder without seeming as much like work.<br />Here are a couple of pictures from the last couple sessions:<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgS5hSXJ1L7mMVjlUSeNAZWG6m4tl07wvbAqXNrMGrvdvbaD8Xm2fXqIQymCzXoVueRdxvKrxDjK3pdXAfNBOqnKLVTLGn_PW94zqT52AreaGsTPp-GH947Nq5fCnCVIxOszYa7jAPBKTiZ/s1600-h/IMG_1292.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgS5hSXJ1L7mMVjlUSeNAZWG6m4tl07wvbAqXNrMGrvdvbaD8Xm2fXqIQymCzXoVueRdxvKrxDjK3pdXAfNBOqnKLVTLGn_PW94zqT52AreaGsTPp-GH947Nq5fCnCVIxOszYa7jAPBKTiZ/s320/IMG_1292.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5293336616430785314" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoi_zqxsud22z-G-dMjBv6oVECWkmCJZUj_-HC6AxQ7_4vsTQofyY-PLXdjQNNyaIN12QGCqh-UpVm9hp62dgIi8B8bJ8FXvTIivMl3v2zF8gPlcaNh3z9k3j3YMPlkYPVnLaP4gyTWM2G/s1600-h/IMG_1302.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoi_zqxsud22z-G-dMjBv6oVECWkmCJZUj_-HC6AxQ7_4vsTQofyY-PLXdjQNNyaIN12QGCqh-UpVm9hp62dgIi8B8bJ8FXvTIivMl3v2zF8gPlcaNh3z9k3j3YMPlkYPVnLaP4gyTWM2G/s320/IMG_1302.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5293336620403987378" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2SsdBj2Xiezvuq4nteM6X1BYJGrTLCVeq7HAaSN4bSRTE0y6eZqSBJ9Mp6z6JshlGSwb2XB4P6ZCj3OJGA39R0E4fVTcqBnYbpiTxc4kpOdUfLPIwstf3PlHi7trpzxe9j0lFDhCvpymD/s1600-h/IMG_1304.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2SsdBj2Xiezvuq4nteM6X1BYJGrTLCVeq7HAaSN4bSRTE0y6eZqSBJ9Mp6z6JshlGSwb2XB4P6ZCj3OJGA39R0E4fVTcqBnYbpiTxc4kpOdUfLPIwstf3PlHi7trpzxe9j0lFDhCvpymD/s320/IMG_1304.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5293336625470748130" border="0" /></a>We are meeting every Wednesday night at 7 and on Sundays at 4 at Two Wheeler Dealer. We helped him throw it together the other night. It is decked out with Ultegra and Dura Ace and Ksyrium wheels. After it was all put together it weighed in at 18.5 lbs with bottle cages.
